




During the Late 1880's and early 1890's immigrants from what was Austria Hungry, settled in Yonkers in the area known as the Hollow

They brought their traditions and religion. forming a Church, worshipping at St Johns in the Square with a part time pastor from Manhattan

They bought property at the Corner of Ashburton Ave and Mulberry street and began construction of a new church.

Pastor Engler served as part time pastor from 1902 until 1920. He helped form the SELC, and oversaw the building of a new Church

The Cornerstone of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church was laid in 1904

Work was completed quickly on Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.

Rev. George Marcek became the congregations first full timeminister in 1921.

A full time pastor needed a parsonage. Ours was completed for this 1922 picture of the entire congregation





By the Late 50's the congregation outgrew their church, It was time to build a new one

In early 1957, Pastor Marcek and the congregation stood around a hole where the church once stood, dedication the cornerstone of the new church.

September 21, 1958, the congregation stood outside the brand new church, waiting for the doors to open.

Almost 4 years to the day, the congregation burned the mortgage

In 1965, after the retirement of Rev George Marcek, Rev Thomas Soltis became the 4th Pastor of Holy Trinity.
